The Terrifying Reason I Had To Leave My Apartment

This was one of the most frightening moments of my life.

I’d like to say it was formative, but I’m not sure how much I learned from it, except for “Take Your Friends Seriously When They Warn You Of Danger”.

So many blogs on YesYesMarsha.com are messages wrapped in stories – the one with the guy who seduced every lady he looked at; the one where I taught myself to stop being shy and became confident; the one where I was a Zombie Nun Queer Slow Dancer.

But here’s me just telling you a straight up story for the sake of a story. No message, no lesson – just a gripping (true!) yarn, about the time I had to move out of my apartment so that I didn’t get killed:

If you want to come and see me tell stories in person, get on the mailing list for my live show, True Stories Told Live, HERE.

Any thoughts? Or do YOU have a good story about a horrible apartment? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks so much for reading. If you can think of anyone who’d be (pleasantly) spooked by this story, you can share it with them using those little round buttons below.

You rule!

xx (Yes Yes) Marsha

Haha, that was hysterical! I would be up on the chair screaming!!!!

Not an apartment story, but it makes me think of the time my grandmother was visiting my house when I was a kid… We lived on a lake and my dad was very fond of all things nature. Bugs, at the top of the list. So he had a huge “bug board” with specimen that he had collected. It was actually quite impressive. Anyway… my grandmother woke up in the middle of the night, caught site of the bug board out of the corner of her eye, thought it was a real live swarm coming to attack her, and went to town destroying the whole thing. Years of my dad’s collection gone in seconds. Hahaha.

Keep telling stories Marsha, you’re such an entertaining story teller!

Marsha! I LOVED this. Someday, I shall buy you a drink and tell you then story of the time a man broke into my apartment whilst I was showering. My brain stopped caring that I was naked…and that man stole nothing. :) Love you!

Ha! I am not brave – he ended up being an ill-timed (and unannounced) handyman!
