(1) Suggested actions to take this week

Once again, two levels!

(A) Describe emotions using the “Show, Don’t Tell” principle.
Before the end of the week: when telling someone about a conversation that you’ve had, illustrate the other person’s emotion by describing their facial expression, tone of voice or body language — without explicitly naming that emotion.

(B) Observe emotions expressed physically.
Between now and Friday: whenever you see or interact with someone and you sense they’re feeling a strong emotion, start to pay attention to exactly what they’re doing that makes you sense that. Ask yourself, what is the difference in their facial expression, tone of voice or body language?

(2) Captivating Story Checklist PDF — reference this before storytelling in any presentation
