One hour’s free coaching

I bloody love talking about this stuff. The whole reason I got into networking coaching was because I was doing it for free my whole life:

It’s what I would corner people at parties for – “Oh, you’re trying to get a job? Here’s what you should be doing” “You’re in a band? Here’s how you can get noticed”

Because my landlord doesn’t accept Good Karma in lieu of rent (so unreasonable), at some point, I had to stop doing all my coaching for free.

But sometimes, I still sneak some free in.

A perfect example? When I’m interviewed.

I recently spent a really fun hour taking to Jordan Harbinger for The Art of Charm podcast. Their tagline is “Where Ordinary Guys Become Extra-Ordinary Men”, but I’m pretty sure the masses of advice I gave was all unisex.

In fact, I gave so much free advice in that hour, it’s tantamount to an hour’s worth of free coaching from me. So if you’re into that, take a listen (by clicking HERE, or on this big logo):

(Also, I think that’s the first time I’ve ever said the word “tantamount”, so I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself right now) (slash a bit nervous that I used it wrong).

I’d totally love to know what you thought of the podcast, or any of the stuff we talk about in it. Or the fact that I get quite sweary towards the end. Years of being on the radio means that felt pretty exciting. Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks,

You rule,

xx (Yes Yes) Marsha

I listened to your podcast this morning and liked it so much that (a) I took the time to look up your website and (b) I might listen to it again!

Tim! BOTH of these such huge compliments – but especially (b), holy! Thanks so much, and thanks for taking the time to let me know. You just officially made my day!

I just wanted to say that I LOVED listening to you on AOC the other day. As a newbie in network marketing I I found your tips super practical and super easy to follow. You inspired me to start each day off by thanking someone, and today I am thanking you! haha. I can’t wait to try out more of your advice. You’re humor and intelligence are a lethal combo I am quite envious of and hope to one day cultivate :) And I’m with Tim ^. I actually have already listened to it twice and intend to keep it as a download as a refresher. Also I demanded that my actress of a twin sister listen to it as she is at this moment in LA doing auditions for pilot season and could benefit so much from the skills you talk about here. Thank you for the awesome free lesson. Invaluable.

HOLY Samantha! What an amazing thank you, thank YOU so much! You just made me very happy.

SO glad that you found it helpful – and hope your sister does too. I work with a lot of creatives – as I say in this video (yesyesmarsha.com/responsibility), I think that, if you’re *actually talented as a creative, it’s your responsibility to network, otherwise the people who do will get the job regardless of talent, and I have to watch bad acting!

And thanks for listening to all my gags through twice :)

Marsha, thanks so much for being so informative in the Art of Charm interview. I have listened to quite a few podcasts from Art of Charm and other similar podcasts, and I found your interview to be one of the most useful I’ve heard. You’re ability to communicate your message, make it actionable, and also just make it make sense is phenomenal. Your super-secret-mind-control-email-reply line is brilliant and the “how has your week been?” and “what was the best bit?” is so simple, non-intrusive, and yet, perfect for opening up a real conversation with someone. Love it. Anyway, I can’t wait to start putting it all into practice. Thanks again!
